My name is Stephania Wieland, and I run Wildflower Psychotherapy.
Wildflowers are hardy, tenacious, and beautiful. They often manage to grow in the most unlikely places. Over the years, while delivering psychotherapy, I’ve found this to be true of my clients as well. Life can be challenging and difficult, yet we somehow find ways to grow.

I see my role as being your ally in this process—to support you in finding your own path to growth and, within that, the courage to blossom.

Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I help individuals understand where their difficulties stem from. Together, we map out these patterns and work in a practical, structured way to implement behavioural and cognitive changes.

I also use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a therapy with a strong evidence base for trauma-related issues and growing evidence for a range of other mental health challenges. EMDR offers an alternative to CBT, using bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping) to help process difficult memories and experiences.

In addition, I am a trained mindfulness teacher and incorporate Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) into my work.

Experience

I am Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, I have worked in the field of CBT for over 13 years. Most of my work was within the NHS, delivering low and high intensity cognitive behavioural therapy to clients with mild to severe mental health problems. I have started to establish a private therapy practice in 2021. I still split my work between private work and NHS.

I am also experienced in delivering EMDR and MBCT therapy.

I grew up in Switzerland and always had an interest in psychology, mental health and wellbeing. I moved to the UK in 2002 to study psychology.
